| Well, according to Xanga.com, I've had this blog site for 131 days and
it's time to upgrade to permium. So, I think I'm ready to attempt
this blogging thing. I think the first entry is the hardest,
because...where do I begin?
I guess I'll just say, WOOHOO!, only one more week to go until winter break! That is definitely exciting
The kids are going to be absolutely nuts next week (I'm a music
teacher, fyi). The week before ANY time off is always a
waste. I threatened the other teachers that I was going to call
in sick all next week...he he he. But of course, I won't. I do
have to say that my position is great, because I can just relax and do
"fun" activities. Classroom teachers, however, still have to
"attempt" to get some academic work done. I'll probably be sick
of the movie "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" by next weekend, because
I'll probably end up showing it to almost every class!!!
I absolutely LOVE Christmas shopping. I love shopping in general,
actually. I get excited about shopping at the grocery store even.
However, I'm noticing a problem...everytime I go to do some shopping
for other people, I always find something so cute and fabulous, and I
end up shopping for myself too! I'm trying to quit.
So, what am I going to do with my glorious two weeks off? Sleep
in, sleep in, sleep in! And meet my mom and sister-in-law in Phoenix
for some shopping or Cheesecake Factory, bake some scrumptious goodies,
and spread Christmas cheer by singing loud for all to hear.
I do love Christmas songs. I listen to the Holiday music station
on my satellite radio (there are about 10 different holiday stations to
choose from right now!), and I think it's fabulous. My husband,
however, gets upset with me for listening to it, even when I'm all by
myself in the car!!! Why? Because he's a grinch (I just gave him
a grinch ornament). Ok, so he's not a total grinch...he just gets
slightly grouchy due to the overcommercialization of Christmas, and the
unbalanced mix of religious and secular "stuff" this time of
year.
Anyway....my fingers are now at their limit in terms of coldness, due
to the frigid temperature of our house (despite our attempts to heat
it...poor insulation). I'm going to go stick them on Phil's warm
tummy hee hee hee....
